live typewriter poetry

vintage-crafted poetry for events
across the hudson valley of new york and beyond

poems made in the shape of your Heart.

you’ll likely hear the sound of typewriter keys before you get to me.

then you arrive to a small table, where an ancient machine is stamping its simple metal keys against the platen, a soft cotton changing before your eyes, lines of ink filling the page, written on-the-spot.

welcome to my table, friend. pull up a chair. nothing is off limits here.
let me show you how this works.

after a stranger visits my table, shares a glimpse of their heart or a small sliver of their story (no worries for those who are shy — i’m skilled at asking questions that get to the heart of it all), a poem begins to weave itself into fruition in the most quiet place of my mind.

my fingers get ready and the words go from heart to hand, crafted within minutes of our meeting.

what comes next — the hand-off — is my favorite part.
i love watching as each of my guests falls in love with the words. i love watching the tears come, the smiles, hearing the exhales, the hand over the chest in self-recognition.

this is my intention: to see the Divine in you…and write to that.

what you receive is a mirror image of the spark i’ve witnessed. and now — it’s yours, tangible, one-of-a-kind. an artifact crafted of great, great love.

this is what i do for you and your guests, whether you’re celebrating a union, throwing an extravagant wedding party, honoring yourself through separation, cultivating depth and meaning through grief, raising awareness for an important movement or message, or simply bringing people together.
you’ve got the vision,
i’ve got the words.

the medicine: everyone gets to be witnessed.

a poem about that moment your dog greets you from the other side of the door?

your love for horses?

what about revenge-turned-self-awareness after a bet-gone-wrong?

or a poem written to a baby who hasn’t been born yet?

these are only a tiny fraction of the subjects i’ve written to. each guest is heard, seen, and written for from a place of absolute inclusiveness, compassion, and a knowing that each life is extraordinarily precious and worthy of a poem.

how it works

arrival + setup

i arrive to your event as a one-woman-show, carrying my vintage typewriter and a bag of magick. think: mary poppins, but instead of a lamp, it’s an endless supply of paper and ribbons of ink and crystals.

welcome to my table, friend

once i’m set up and guests are free to explore, the rhythmic typing invites curiosity + wonder. my table is open. after exchanging introductions with your friends, i’ll ask what’s on their heart. any word, phrase, thought, feeling. i only need a glimpse. then the words come. a poem: 3-5 minutes.

the hand-off

the best part: the poem, fresh from the platen, newly inked and only a few moments old, arrives to the hands and ears of the recipient. hands to hearts, tears, hugs, and awe are the usual responses, and i’m here for all the feels.

when you wish you could stop time.

i can’t promise time travel, but i can promise the power of poetry,
and how words can preserve the magick and feeling of the present.
